Kara was born and raised in Orange County. Throughout her youth, she was very involved in sports. Soccer was her passion, and thought she would make a career out of it. Soccer really taught her a foundation for teamwork, integrity, and work ethic.
After attending Mater Dei, Kara attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where she received a Bachelors Degree in Biology, emphasis in Anatomy and Physiology with a minor in Psychology. After graduating, Kara moved back to Southern California to get a fresh opportunity where she could grow her leadership skills and use her sports background to advance and continue to challenge herself daily.
In Orange County, Kara took an entry-level outside sales position at a nationally recognized firm to learn the industry of marketing and sales from the ground up. The growth and advancement through a Leadership Development Program is what attracted her to this type of business, and away from the medical field.
Initially, getting in for experience she soon realized that the social, fast-paced, performance based, and leadership culture was going to be a huge fit for her sports-like background and personality. She loved that the company rewards employees on their personal performance and constantly pushes individuals to their fullest potential by expanding personal and professional growth.
Kara had experience working in management with another sales firm before opening up West Coast Concepts in June 2015 in Culver City, CA. Within her first year she has grown the leadership team of six to 24 employees and increased revenue by 200%. The company plans to open up their first expansion market in May 2016 and it’s second in September 2016. In 2017 Kara plans on expanding into a UK market, specifically London, and use the Leadership Development Program to enrich the lives of individuals in countries in the Western European areas. Her passion lies in entrepreneurship and helping people in for-profit and non-profit sectors.
